Violation: Senior IT Project Manager with the Office of the Attorney General, agreed that they may have violated the Ethics in Public Service Act. Evidence indicated that they are a member of several outside boards and committees and they attended meetings in state offices and conference rooms.

Result: An agreed Stipulation and Order was entered on March 13, 2026, imposing a civil penalty of $750 with $375 suspended.

2003-020 Office of the Attorney General

Violation: A former Office of the Attorney General employee may have violated the Ethics in Public Service Act when they used state resources to prepare documents for a private lawsuit.

Result: Settlement approved on March 11, 2005 for a Civil penalty in the amount of $500.

2000-036 Office of the Attorney General

Violation: A Washington State Attorney General's Office employee violated the Ethics in Public Service Act when they used state property under their official control for their private benefit to pursue a private legal matter.

Result: Final Order issued on October 10, 2003 for a Civil penalty in the amount of $3,500 and an addition $1,500 for investigative costs.

2007-053 Office of the Attorney General

Violation: Office of the Attorney General employees violated the Ethics in Public Service Act when they used documents for teaching a class that were copied from internal litigation files maintained at the Attorney General's Office regarding a 1992 Superior Court case. (see: 2007-053 and 2007-041)

Result: Settlement approved on February 13, 2009 for a Civil penalty of $250 for each respondent.

Violation: Office of the Attorney General employees violated the Ethics in Public Service Act when they used documents for teaching a class that were copied from internal litigation files maintained at the Attorney General's Office regarding a 1992 Superior Court case. (see: 2007-053 and 2007-041)

Result: Settlement approved on February 13, 2009 for a Civil penalty of $250 for each respondent.

2025-039 Office of the Attorney General

Violation: Assistant Attorney General with the Attorney General’s Office agreed that they may have violated the Ethics in Public Service Act. Evidence indicated that they used their position to influence their minor child’s school conduct in relation to their child and former spouse.

Result: An agreed Stipulation and Order was entered on May 8, 2026, imposing a civil penalty of $1,000 with $250 suspended.
