Apply for appointment to the Board

How do I apply to become a board member?

The Governor appoints members to the board. Individuals interested in applying should fill out the online application for appointment and attach your résumé to the application.  If you do apply to our board, please send us a courtesy to ethics@atg.wa.gov

What are we looking for in a board member? 

Our composition requirements include:

  • A classified service employee as defined in chapter 41.06 RCW;
  • A state officer or state employee in an exempt position;
  • A citizen selected from a list of three names submitted by the Washington State Attorney General;
  • A citizen selected from a list of three names submitted by the Washington State Auditor; and
  • A citizen at-large.

How often and where does the Board meet?

The Board holds regular scheduled meetings on the second Friday of every other month at 9:00 a.m. unless a different time is noted on the agenda. The meetings are hybrid and held in person at one of our administrative office locations in Tumwater and via Zoom.

If travel is required, will you be reimbursed?

Board members are reimbursed per diem and mileage for board-related travel in accordance with the Office of Financial Management travel policies
