Violation: A Department of Fish and Wildlife employee agreed that they may have violated the Ethics in Public Service Act when they failed to pay for parking on Capital Campus for approximately one-year.

Result: A Stipulated agreement was entered on May 10, 2019 imposing a civil penalty of $1,000 with $500 suspended.

2009-008 Department of Fish and Wildlife

Violation: A former Department of Fish and Wildlife employee may have violated the Ethics in Public Service Act when they used their position to give assurances to wind energy production companies if these companies would donate monies to a non-profit organization that they founded and led. In addition, their role as the President of the non-profit organization conflicted with their public duties and they were using their state computer inappropriately.

Result: Settlement approved on October 12, 2010, for a Civil penalty of $15,000.

2019-034 Department of Fish and Wildlife

Violation: Former IT Specialist 4 with the Department of Fish and Wildlife, may have violated the Ethics in Public Service Act by using state resources for private benefit or gain. Evidence indicated that they misappropriated over $65,000 in funds when they used state credit cards to buy fuel for their personal vehicles over several years.

Result: An agreed Stipulation and Order was entered on May 14, 2021 imposing a civil penalty of $4,500.

2019-017 Department of Fish and Wildlife

Violation: A Fish and Wildlife Biologist 4 may have violated the Ethics in Public Service Act by using state resources for private benefit and gain. Evidence indicated that state email was being used for a March Madness sports pool.

Result: An agreed Stipulation was entered on November 8, 2019 imposing a civil penalty of $500 with $100 suspended.
