Violation: A Program Administrator with the Department of Children, Youth, and Family, may have violated the Ethics in Public Service Act by using state computer resources for her personal benefit or gain in support of her private outside business. Evidence indicated that Ms. Hart was using her state Outlook email account to promote/support the outside private sale of makeup and coffee products.

Result: An agreed Stipulation and Order was entered on September 10, 2021 imposing a civil penalty of $3,000 with $1,500 suspended.

2018-064 Department of Children, Youth, and Families

Violation: A Social Service Specialist 3, Child Protective Services may have violated the Ethics in Public Service Act by using state resources for private benefit or gain and used her personal email to transmit confidential information.

Result: An agreed Stipulation was entered on November 8, 2019 imposing a civil penalty of $3,000 with $500 suspended.
